Cornwall Alliance Seeks Interns for Semester and Summer Positions

In Life, People, The Big Picture by Megan Toombs Kinard0 Comments

The Cornwall Alliance for the Stewardship of Creation is the foremost Christian voice promoting Biblical earth stewardship, economic development for the poor through free markets and sound energy policy, and the proclamation and defense of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are seeking interns for both semester and summer positions. Internships will include a wide variety of opportunities that will be tailored to the intern’s skills and interests, and the needs of the Cornwall Alliance. All majors are welcome to apply. Applicant must be at least a junior or senior undergraduate student, recent graduate, or graduate student.

Interns must be motivated self-starters, capable of taking on a project and making it their own, and absolutely must have good writing skills. Interns will be active in the daily research and educational writing of the Cornwall Alliance and, depending on the field of study, may participate in social media outreach, database management, and website/blog content management, or graphic design. Those interested will have the opportunity to be published.

Competency in design software and WordPress a plus, but not required.

Internships are flexible and can be from 15 to 30 hours per week. No relocation is required—interns may work from home. Academic credit may be offered depending on the requirements of the intern’s university. A stipend of up to $600 will be offered each intern depending on the time availability of the intern.

Please send cover letter, resume, writing sample of 750-1000 words, and answers to questionnaire (below) to Megan@CornwallAlliance.org. We accept interns on a rolling basis. Please indicate whether you are applying for a Spring, Summer, or Fall internship.

Remember, your cover letter is where you sell yourself. Be honest and tell us why you are the best fit.

Questionnaire:

Please describe your relationship with Jesus Christ.

Are there any points at which you would disagree with the Cornwall Alliance Statement of Faith? If so, list and explain them.

Are there any points at which you would disagree with The Cornwall Declaration on Environmental Stewardship. If so, list and explain them.

Why do you want to intern with the Cornwall Alliance? What do you think you will learn from the experience?

Do you have previous experience with the environmental movement? If so, please describe.

Do you embrace the Cornwall Alliance’s stances on global warming/climate change and on economic development for poor nations? Why or why not? (You may wish to review The Cornwall Stewardship Agenda and A Call to Truth, Prudence, and Protection of the Poor 2014: The Case against Harmful Climate Policies Gets Stronger before answering this question.)

Please list the name, relationship, phone number, and email address of two non-family references (pastor, professor, manager, etc.).
